Blackpool has lost over £1.6billion in cuts since 2010/11. We now receive 58% less per capita in transport expenditure and local schools faced millions in cuts in the last year alone. Families in Blackpool are struggling to make ends meet and the weekly wage in Blackpool is 30% lower than the national average at £445.
I will campaign tirelessly with Cllr Lynn Williams for an improved settlement for our town and strive to ensure we get the fair deal we need. I will lobby for investment for infrastructure projects to create community wealth and work with local businesses and the Trade Unions to ensure everyone gets a proper living wage, aspiring to £15 per hour.
