Coronation Street star and Equality Campaigner Nicola Thorp has backed Chris Webb, Labour’s Parliamentary candidate to be the next MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys.
“I’m delighted to back Chris Webb to become our first ever locally born MP. Parliament desperately needs new blood and Chris has a fantastic vision to bring the pride back in our town and fight for the most vulnerable in our communities.
“He isn’t your typical political. He’s Blackpool born and bred and has worked right across the town. This election is about who stands up for our town in Parliament and I think it’s about time we had someone who truly understands the issues local people face day in day out .
“His enthusiasm and determination will make him an excellent MP, fighting for local people so I encourage all the people of Blackpool North and Cleveleys to support Chris on 12th December.”
Chris said, "It's fantastic to receive the support of Nicola in my bid to become our local MP.
"I'm standing to restore the pride back in our town. To put bobbies back on the beat, help the homeless find a home and receive the help they need, clean up our streets and fix our broken roads. And secure adequate funding for our NHS, not only to help the hard working staff who are at breaking point but reduce the waiting list that are affecting so many in our town."
