Employment support in Blackpool: Launching the Connect to Work programme

I’m proud to announce the launch of a brand-new service that could transform the lives of thousands of local people: the Connect to Work programme is now live across Blackpool and the wider Lancashire area.

Connect to Work is part of the Government’s broader Get Britain Working strategy, but delivered locally by local people who understand our communities best.

This voluntary scheme is designed to support disabled people, those living with health conditions, and residents facing complex barriers to employment – helping them not just to find work, but to stay in it and thrive.

Blackpool is working in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council to make the most of a substantial £38.8 million government investment int he programme. It aims to support 11,000 people across the Greater Lancashire area and presents a real opportunity to tackle economic inactivity and open the door to secure, meaningful employment for those who need a helping hand.

Whether you or someone you know is struggling to get back into work due to illness, disability, or personal challenges, Connect to Work offers tailored support to make that journey easier.
